Why Tucker Carlson and Candace Owens Are Missing the Biblical Miracle of Israel
In a recent video discussion on CBN News, Calev Myers, co-founder and chairman of ARISE, responded to growing anti-Israel rhetoric from prominent conservative voices like Tucker Carlson and Candace Owens. While acknowledging their influence, Myers was quick to note that their views on Israel remain fringe within the global evangelical movement, which still overwhelmingly supports the Jewish state.

Myers believes that voices critical of Israel are not just missing a political point but a profound spiritual truth about the character of God. “People who espouse anti-Israel views are missing out on a big blessing,” he said, adding that throughout Scripture, God repeatedly identifies Himself as “the Lord your God who brought you out of Egypt.” This phrase appears more than 140 times in the Bible and is not a random identifier—it reveals God as a redeemer, a deliverer and one who responds to injustice.
Myers points out something even more remarkable: the Bible also prophesies a time when God would no longer be primarily known as the one who brought Israel out of Egypt, but as the one who brought the Jewish people back from the nations to their ancient homeland. This regathering, described in passages like Jeremiah 23 and Ezekiel 36, is unfolding in real-time—a miracle of modern history and a powerful testament to God’s covenant faithfulness.
According to Myers, God has tied His name and reputation to Israel’s restoration. “I’ll redeem My name when I bring you back from the nations and put you in your land,” he quotes from Ezekiel. That restoration, despite Israel’s imperfections, demonstrates God’s unchanging commitment to His promises. “If He can go back on His promise to Israel,” Myers warns, “then no other promise in the Bible is worth the paper it’s written on.”
He emphasizes that Israel’s rebirth is a “trophy of grace”—not a reward for righteousness, but a display of God’s mercy and His faithfulness to the covenant He made with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. “God says in Ezekiel, ‘I’m not doing this for your sake, Israel… you should be ashamed. But I will do it for My name’s sake.’” For Christians who revere God’s Word, this should not be ignored.
Myers also addressed the strange theological drift where declarations like “Christ is King” are being used in some circles to diminish Israel. “When you say ‘Christ is King,’ you’re saying a Jew is King,” Myers reminded. “Jesus is Jewish. You can’t separate Him from His identity.”

Rejecting replacement theology, which claims that the church has replaced Israel in God’s plan, Myers encourages a balanced view that embraces both spiritual Israel (believers in Christ) and physical Israel (the Jewish people and their homeland).
For those willing to embrace the full narrative of Scripture, the modern existence of Israel is not just political—it is a living, breathing testimony that the God of the Bible still keeps His promises. As Myers concluded, “If you can’t rejoice in that, you’re missing out on a beautiful understanding of the character of God.”
